POSITION SUMMARY

The Superintendent will serve as an on-site supervisor and construction manager, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the construction of building thermal projects. This position is responsible for managing the on-site safety program for each project including all required safety paperwork and performing QA/QC spot checks and assisting in coordinating complementary work by other subcontractors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervises crew members and contractors to ensure they are efficient, productive, and working safely to meet all project deadlines

• Prepare daily reports, project meeting logs, schedule(s), photos, drawings, punch lists, and project-related paperwork in a cloud-based project management system

• Manage the work in progress to ensure that it conforms to design specifications and industry standards

• Manages workflow to ensure construction schedules are met

• Establish quality standards, details, and procedures for installation of insulated metal panels, vapor barriers, trim, doors, and other tasks as necessary

• Read blueprints to determine the proper placement of equipment and components needed to build a refrigeration (cold storage) system

• Work alongside and perform the same duties as the Panel Install crew they supervise

• Conducts safety meetings with crew members and contractors as directed by the Safety Department and report all meetings in Procore under the Forms tab

• Responsible for helping to maintain all Company issued equipment (including but not limited to, Company vehicles and trailers) and assist with tracking required maintenance

• Maintain project documentation and reporting

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the client’s construction standards, processes, and procedures.

• Maintain company security in all areas – vehicles, company property, office, trailers, job sites

• Assist PMs and Site Superintendents with ordering materials

• Work alongside and perform the same duties as the Panel Install crew they supervise

• Other duties as needed for business operations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Familiarity with computers/field tablets or similar programs will be necessary

• Schedules and timelines change frequently as issues arise in the course of construction, therefore the ability to problem solve on the fly will be necessary

• Prior leadership experience in a similar role

• Excellent verbal communication skills with an emphasis on employee training and development

• Must have the necessary physical stamina to be able to work for extended hours or workdays

• Knowledge of the principals of cold storage construction, including freezer and cooler construction details, vapor barriers, as well as installation of cold storage doors and underfloor insulation is a plus

• Must be safety-minded and dedicated to achieving an accident-free work environment by following and encouraging safe working practices on every project

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 Years of Cold Storage Construction Experience

• 3-10 years of experience in a similar role

• Valid driver’s license

• Authorized to work in the United States

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%

• Bilingual is preferred, but not required
