Job Description

Brault is a practice management, billing and coding company exclusively serving acute care independent physician practices. A high volume medical billing company we are currently looking for an experienced, proactive, resourceful, detailed oriented HIE Specialist with working knowledge of HIE processes. With excellent organizational skills, the right individual will possess strong problem-solving skills, communicate well, able to multitask, prioritize and have excellent time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Monitors the Patient Account Tracking (PAT) system for all assigned datasets to ensure activities are initiated; immediately researching, resolving, or escalating all missing, corrupt, or incomplete data capture.
Remotely access hospital systems (e.g. EMR, dictation, etc.) to retrieve all necessary chart documents as needed for patients receiving services by contracted Brault providers.
Facilitates record completion by sending provider incomplete chart notifications in accordance with documented procedures.
Maintains Shortage Lists ensuring that no accounts are greater than 60 days old and total shortage is at 1% of total volume or less. Distributes shortage reports as required.
Consistently update the Brault Patient Account Tracking (PAT) system for all account activity on a daily basis – comments, bill as is, non-billable fields, etc.
Prior to the monthly close, ensure all documentation has been received for each client to close at a 98% capture rate or above.
Demonstrate good oral and written communication with off-site chart coordinators and Brault departments (e.g. email communication is one of the primary communication forms for Brault).
Escalates customer issues/concerns/problems in a pro-active and timely manner presenting chain of command an opportunity to work with client supervisor and customer to retain an account.
Demonstrates a team approach through cooperative interactions such as problem-solving, excellent written/verbal communication, and customer focus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent organizational skills as demonstrated by meeting established priority timelines, and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize work and maintain confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of the tools, techniques and terminology of healthcare billing operations.
General Knowledge of Hospital Medical Record and Information Technology services.
Must be proactive, positive, resourceful, and imaginative in problem solving and a self-starter with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be computer literate and have intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs such as outlook, word, excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in navigating multiple Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ideally EPIC, Meditech, Cerner, AllScripts, or McKesson is preferred.
Must be able to work under pressure with frequent interruptions while maintaining and coordinating all aspects of the position.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
Must have strong analytical skills and to work under pressure and to work under deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
