Overview

CUBIO-Innovation-HUB is a cutting-edge collaborative life science lab and startup hub located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. We specialize in advancing the biotech and MedTech sectors by providing startups with the critical resources needed to be sustainable and grow. We are seeking an Operations Manager who is fluent in Chinese and has a robust background in managing operations within the biotech or MedTech fields. This role is vital for elevating the startups' profiles, streamlining management operations, supporting the CEO, and fostering significant global partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership and Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the hub to ensure efficiency and resource optimization.
Implement and refine operational procedures to maximize productivity and streamline project management across the organization.
Work closely with department heads to ensure cohesive operational procedures are executed and aligned with strategic goals.
Strategic Initiative and Project Oversight:
Coordinate strategic initiatives around global partnerships and collaborate with international entities to expand the hub’s influence and capabilities.
Manage and support the operations related to office functionality and the coordination between key managers in other departments.
Lead initiatives to improve processes, integrate new tools and technologies, and optimize resource allocation.
Team Development and Support:
Build and maintain a high-performing team by training, and motivating staff members.
Establish comprehensive team goals and metrics that align with the company’s objectives and monitor performance to ensure high levels of productivity and excellence.
Foster a collaborative, innovative, and efficient organizational culture.
Communication and Collaboration:
Act as a liaison between the CEO, department heads, and external partners to ensure clear communication and effective management of expectations.
Regularly report to the CEO with updates, strategic insights, and recommendations.
Travel and International Relations:
Travel nationally and internationally (at least 5-7 times a year, with at least the possibilty of 1 international trip) to establish, negotiate, and maintain partnerships.
Represent the company in global forums, conferences, and collaborations to enhance business opportunities and strategic alliances.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Operations Management, or a closely related field; Master’s preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in operations management.
Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English is essential.
Demonstrated experience in project management, strategic planning, and team leadership.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to travel internationally and adapt to diverse cultural interactions.
Proven capability to negotiate and work with international partners.
