Tilt’s mission is to price the world’s information. We do this by empowering investors of all sizes to spot emerging trends using AI and LLM models, while simplifying the investment process by managing trend-related complexities. Tilt’s strategy is to map relationships between entities through point-in-time data and build dynamic indices for institutional and retail investors alike.

About the Role

(This is a fully remote role — we are open to hiring employees based in Canada or the United States.)

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Delphia, you will be integral in developing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms, particularly in the areas of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), MLOps/LLMOps. You will work closely with researchers, data scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders to integrate ML solutions into production systems. Your role will involve experimenting with new LLM methodologies, conducting data preprocessing, and ensuring the performance and reliability of deployed models.

In your first month, you will:

Familiarize yourself with Delphia’s data and ML infrastructure, tools, and current machine learning projects
Understand the business and technical objectives of Tilt, as well as the architecture approaches
Review our existing models and datasets to understand current capabilities and limitations
Collaborate with the team to identify immediate areas where LLMs and AI can add value
Begin developing prototype models using existing data to showcase initial results and benchmarks, integrated with RL feedback loops.
Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and how LLMs can be integrated into their workflows to build internal tooling

In your first three months, you will:

Develop and deploy a minimum viable product (MVP) for Tilt that utilizes state-of-the-art models and architectures
Set up and automate data pipelines for continuous model training and evaluation
Optimize existing LLM models for performance, accuracy, and scalability
Work closely with the Tilt team to integrate the MVP into the production environment
Conduct A/B testing and gather feedback from stakeholders to iterate on the model

In your first year, you will:

Own the development of multiple LLM-driven solutions, from initial research and prototyping to production deployment
Apply best practices for LLM model development, deployment, and monitoring
Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
Continuously evaluate new ML techniques and tools to keep Delphia’s models at the cutting edge, in a modular and fast-paced iteration cycle from research to deployment
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all internal ML models and processes
Engage with external partners and the broader ML community to stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in the field

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models with a focus on LLMs to enhance data-driven for point-in-time index and ticker construction
Perform data analysis, preprocessing, and feature engineering to prepare datasets for training and evaluating LLMs
Implement and optimize LLMs to ensure high performance, accuracy, and reliability in our production environments
Monitor and maintain the health and performance of deployed LLM models, making adjustments as needed
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML solutions into Delphia’s platform, ensuring they meet user needs
Document processes, models, and methodologies to support knowledge sharing and reproducibility within the team

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML
Proven experience in developing, deploying, and optimizing deep learning models in production environments
Strong programming skills in Python, with expertise in ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face Transformers
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and data structures specific to LLMs
Hands-on experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques for LLMs
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) and tools for ML deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, particularly in the context of ML and AI

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience with natural language processing (NLP), reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning techniques
Interest in finance and investment strategies, particularly in applying LLMs to financial markets and investment strategies
Prior experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment
Familiarity with tools and frameworks for building and deploying AI Agents and ML models including but not limited to OpenAI GPT, BERT

Unicorn Status:

You’ve led the development and successful deployment of cutting-edge LLM and ML models that achieved significant business impact in a production environment.
You have a track record of publishing influential research papers on LLMs or other advanced ML techniques in top-tier conferences and journals.
You are always keeping up-to-date with the latest state-of-the-art architectures in the AI domain
You think outside the box and have a strong interest in applying novel architectures to produce new benchmarks in the products you build
