Ground Up Construction Recruiting has partnered with a cold-formed steel truss manufacturer in Avondale, AZ on their search for a Senior Designer.

We're looking for someone that has experience in designing prefabricated cold-formed steel trusses and wall panel systems for residential and commercial projects. If you’re looking for an opportunity where you can help improve processes and implement best practices, this is for you!

Salary up to $100k (negotiable for more DOE)
3 weeks of PTO + 6 holidays
401k + a 4% match

What you’ll be doing:

Design and Drafting:

Develop detailed designs and drawings for prefabricated truss and wall panel systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MiTek, Strucsoft or similar).
Ensure designs meet all structural requirements, building codes, and client specifications.
Create 3D models and simulations to visualize and validate designs.

Project Coordination:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure alignment.
Coordinate with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and optimized for manufacturing.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project schedules.

Technical Expertise:

Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies related to prefabricated construction.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers and drafters.
Conduct quality checks on designs and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in design and drafting.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of design standards and templates.

What would make you a great fit:

5-7 years of experience in designing truss and wall panel systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Mitek, or similar software
Knowledge of building codes, structural design principles, and construction methods
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality
