You would be working for a manufacturer and distributor that offers a variety of home products ranging from bath accessories, storage, organization and much more. Become part of our dynamic team! We are seeking a Home Product Designer with at least 8 years of experience in product design. The ideal candidate needs to be a highly creative thinker who is passionate about product/package design and ideation. Product categories include bath accessories, window hardware, storage, bath furniture, organization and home decor items.In this role, the Product Designer assists the Design Director to drive the design process, creating designs that are in original 2D and 3D illustrations and mechanical drawings. Candidate must have strong illustrative and graphic skills. A required vast understanding of challenges to designing a competitive and compelling product with price in mind. Candidate must have ability to render realistic 3D art. Ideal candidate is detail-oriented, critical thinking, collaborative, passionate, and respectful, with the ability to adapt to changes, multi-task in a fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do

· Assist in the product development and design process across multiple categories to create innovative design collections that are trend and retail relevant.

· Must be receptive to feedback and execution in a timely and professional manner.

· Ability to take original ideation to final sample and production phase of development.

· Create original design renderings with functional product applications for presentation purposes in 3D format with “turns” and various viewpoints.

· Coordinate processes across a global team of sales, product managers and overseas suppliers to develop a strong assortment of product with tight deadlines.

· Translate trend-worthy inspiration into realistic product concepts that respond to the changing needs for each category.

· Cultivate an understanding of the marketplace by identifying where opportunities and innovation may drive sales.

· Provide all product specifications to factory in mechanical drawing format with exact measurements and proper callouts to create samples for the US market.

· Design and create simple packaging prototypes.

· Shop everyday stores on a regular basis to better develop an understanding of the market needs and competitive shopping.

· Provide presentation materials for internal executives and external customer meetings.

· Generate creative and useful solutions in a fast paced, self-starter, changing work environment.

What You Bring

· BFA in product design, textiles, industrial design or related degree.

· 8+ years of solid professional work experience in design and product development of products for mass and specialty retailers.

· Software platform preference: Solid Works, Keyshot or 3D Max and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

· Ability to develop product with a sharp sense of trend, salability in the marketplace and a true understanding of manufacturing.

· Knowledge base of materials such as: metal, glass, ceramic, wire, resin, wood, and plastic.

· An understanding that rendering details and subtle techniques in various finishes, including subtle design techniques is required.

· Preferred candidate has previous hard goods bath and/or home product expertise.

· Knowledge base of additional manufacturing processes such as stamping, casting, injection molding, forging, extruding for rapid prototyping is a plus.

· Portfolio with technical, illustrative drawings and sketching abilities a must.
