Position Overview:

The Capital Markets Analyst would provide support to secondary managers while still assisting with day-to-day lock desk functions. Resolve complex loan issues in a timely manner. Be able to identify and implement enhancements to the current processes to mitigate production constraints. Assist with margin management and reporting in Optimal Blue. Be able to understand and communicate pricing and policy changes with sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze hedge reports and correct loan errors.
Trade preparation (check for accuracy of data, verify loan criteria is met, match investor requirements).
Take out commitments for delivery of loans to an end investor.
Track commitments and paid off when necessary.
Assist with the funding and delivery of committed loans to end investor.
Take direction from EVP of Capital Markets /Secondary Markets Manager for current MBS market conditions and to issue re-priced rate sheets accordingly.
Validate and reconcile loans purchased from investors.
Review cancelled loans and fallout.
Assist with the settlement, margining and confirmation of trades where necessary.
Responding to customer queries re: pricing, lock rates, programs.
Validation and confirmation of lock requests from loan originators.
Able to comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the Company Handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Participates in and lead proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Coach and manage the lock desk staff regarding efficiency, accuracy, and best practices.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance).
2-5 years of related experience in financial services, mortgage lending
Encompass experience required.
Optimal Blue experience required.
Lock Desk experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook (required).
Proficient in data entry and management.
Possess strong attention to detail, analytical and organization skills.
Ability to interact effectively with third parties and team members.
Take an active role in seeking continuous individual improvement, support team goals.
Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent customer service skills.
Timely communication and response times according to department standards
