HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Jr. Web Developer provides technical production expertise to maintain the organization's internal and external web properties and assist in the creation of ancillary online applications and email campaigns. A portfolio of previous work is required to apply. This position reports to the Digital Marketing Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Develop, test, and maintain email templates, campaigns, and automation workflows using our email marketing platforms.
Implement responsive design principles and dynamic content features in email templates to enhance user engagement and deliverability.
Collaborate with senior developers and stakeholders to understand the website requirements and objectives of our nonprofit programs and projects.
Develop and maintain custom Drupal themes and templates using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP to implement design mockups and ensure responsive and accessible web experiences.
Implement best practices for front-end performance optimization within the Drupal platform.
Conduct testing and debugging of front-end components and features to ensure cross-browser compatibility and seamless user interactions for both Drupal and WordPress websites.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and development workflows. We currently use Pantheon for version controls.
Stay informed about email marketing best practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and effectiveness of email communications.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

JOB EXPERIENCE

Experience in Web programming/ development required.
Experience and knowledge of open-source Web development platforms required.
Experience with Drupal and Wordpress content management software required.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Web design or a related field or equivalent specialized training required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience with email marketing development and knowledge of email development best practices.
Proficiency in Drupal theming and site building, with experience customizing Drupal themes, templates, and modules
Strong understanding of front-end web development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
Familiarity with PHP programming language and Drupal's template engine (Twig). S
Experience with WordPress theme development, customization, and plugin integration.
Familiarity with APIs and web services, understanding their integration into web applications.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality work.
Understanding of multiple development environment platforms, prefer experience with Pantheon.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with a strong sense of teamwork.
