Requested Experience, Skills, and Education

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in computer science or related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training with:
Expertise in managing MS SQL Server databases.
Knowledge or experience in C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript is a plus.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for database-related issues.
Three years’ experience with Power Shell or other scripting language.
Three years’ experience in IT operation (FTP, batch etc.) management.
Demonstrates personal accountability in work and personal actions, following through on all commitments.
Ability to adapt and change behavior or methods of approach in rapidly changing environments.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail skills through thoroughness and thought of work products.
Capable of understanding situations and problems, by combining information. Able to identify patterns and connections conceptually and apply information to identify underlying issues in complex situations.
Demonstrates eagerness to continuously learn and acquire necessary technical knowledge, skills, and judgment to accomplish results or to serve a customer's needs effectively.
Competence in collecting, consolidating, and correctly using relevant data; recognizing important information. Developing proper analysis and tracing possible causes of problems; searching for practical data/solutions.
Ability to spot opportunities within your own circle of influence, anticipating threats and acting on them; demonstrating the ability to be a self-starting rather than waiting passively until the situation demands action.
Builds and maintains ongoing, collaborative, working relationships with coworkers to achieve the goals of the work unit.
Demonstrates effective planning and organizing skills, with ability to set priorities and define realistic actions, time and resources needed to achieve predefined goals. Consistently delivers required business results; sets and achieves achievable, yet aggressive, goals; consistently complies with quality, service and productivity standards and meets deadlines; maintains focus on SERS’ goals.
Ability to express ideas and opinions clearly in properly structured, well organized, and grammatically correct reports or documents, utilizing language and terminology that is understandable for the reader.
Ability to use strategic awareness to put things in context and to think broadly. Considering and understanding future business needs within a changing external environment and how process, methods and resource requirements might be affected by future trends and developments, and of developing long-term goals and strategies extending over significant time span (i.e. 3-5 years).
Equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience considered when evaluating candidates for the Database Administrator role.

Location and Commitments

Hybrid work environment, offering 2-work from home days, each week, after 30 days of employment, or once eligible.
Required onsite workdays take place in our office in downtown Columbus, with free parking.
Core business hours are 8 to 4:45 PM (40 hours per week) Monday through Friday.
