About Stell

Stell helps engineers at hardware companies in heavily-regulated industries (Space, Aviation, Medical Devices) do documentation and tracking of technical contract compliance.

Stell’s key innovations are (1) a user-interface for building text-rich documentation while enabling the complex linking needed to describe hardware systems, and (2) secure collaboration on technical contracts, replacing email and PDFs for our customers and their customers.

Stell’s simple yet powerful interface makes collaboration across internal teams and external partners (like suppliers) fast - so you can supercharge your engineering projects ⚡

In this Software Engineer role you will:

Work with the CEO and the Head of Product and Engineering to develop, deploy, and maintain a highly reliable and performant enterprise web application.
Partner with space companies and machine shops to create solutions that enable them to collaborate and communicate technical information more efficiently.
Collaborate with peers on architecture, design, and code reviews. As an early member of a nascent engineering team, you will have outsized influence on important technical decisions.
Build prototypes to prove out and test new technologies and tradeoffs.
Work across our databases, API, and client codebases.
Even if you don’t have experience in all of the above, this is a great opportunity to dive in and learn!

This may be a good fit if you:

Are an execution-oriented scrappy problem solver that ships, then iterates - you can figure out what you don’t know.
Have experience in full stack development, working with cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
Have experience writing front end code in a modern Javascript framework (React, Angular, Ember, etc).
Have 2-4 years of professional software development experience.
Note: Degree in computer science or STEM not required!

Engineers who are invested in and want to feel responsible for the product. Understanding and empathizing with our users is a learnable skill, but we are also looking for people who have some product intuition and can comprehend how their code directly helps our users accomplish their goals.

Nice to haves:

Experience at a design-focused business intelligence SaaS company (example companies: Airtable, Confluence, Quip, Figma, Miro, Notion, Ramp, Rippling, Asana, Palantir)
Familiarity, interest, or background in aerospace & defense, manufacturing, hardware engineering
