Full Stack Software Engineer

Synthesis is making a statement in education by building a superhuman math tutor.

We’re looking for a full-stack software engineer near the beginning of their career to join the Tutor team. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for building valuable internal tooling to help us better understand and service key facets of our product and business, including financial and product dashboards, admin tools to manage accounts and subscriptions, etc. This position requires a high degree resourcefulness, patience and flexibility. You’ll dive deep into how we currently work and help us optimize it as you grow into your role. We expect a broad set of skills — both interpersonal skills and technical skills. For this role we’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience working in fast-paced, growth-mode environments creating interactive products and applications.

What you'll do:

As an internal tools engineer at Synthesis, you will be instrumental in building internal tooling to help us better understand and manage our growing customer base. Your role will include:

Developing internal admin/customer support tools using Next.js (React), Tailwind, tRPC, and Prisma.
Querying, manipulating, and displaying data in intuitive dashboards for stakeholders to better understand the usage of our product.
Build additional data pipelines as business needs arise.

Technical Skill Requirements**:**

Comfortable with functional React/Nextjs, CSS (Tailwind), SQL, Typescript, and git
Ability to design and build visually appealing and intuitive experiences.

Soft Skill Requirements**:**

This role will require you to develop a deep understanding of and empathy for our customer happiness team, financial team, product team, CEO, and other internal stakeholders. You’ll be working closely with all of them on a daily basis.
