SUMMARY

We’re seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in sunny Solana Beach, CA! The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing all aspects of the transactional accounting function as well as the month-end close process. They will ensure that financials are complete, accurate, and timely. This position will interact with internal Tide Rock teams as well as with our Portfolio company accounting personnel and deliver the best service with a sense of urgency. The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and together will help move the department to the next level with automation and best practices. This position will allow you to grow your accounting knowledge and experience in a collaborative, fast-paced, and fun environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Process month-end journal entries and reconciliations for all Tide Rock top-level entities.
Assist with preparing financial reporting packages.
Prepare monthly reconciliation of all accounts.
Process AP invoices and daily transactions in NetSuite.
Grant permissions to users in the Internet banking portal and Expensify.
Audit and approve GL coding of expense reports using the Expensify platform.
Obtain monthly vendor statements and reconcile them against our AP aging.
Process monthly Portfolio company invoices and apply cash received.
Prepare weekly AP check run requests including ACH and wire transfer setup.
Manage monthly allocation spreadsheet for billing Portfolio Companies.
Perform intercompany journal entries in Netsuite and reconcile monthly.
Prepare RLOC borrowing requests for Portco loans, update the interest tracking spreadsheet, and record them in NetSuite.
Assist with annual taxes work papers, payments, and notices.
Assist with annual audit PBC items.
Assist with back-office procedure documentation and organization.
Backup to office manager for administrative duties when out of the office.
Other tasks as requested.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

A College Degree is required, preferably in accounting or finance.
5 years of experience working in accounting or related field.
NetSuite and Expensify experience a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft products.
Highly detail-oriented and organized.
Skilled with Excel and other Microsoft products as well as computers in general.
