Waterside Staffing Accounting and Finance is currently seeking a skilled and qualified Staff Accountant – hybrid in the Tampa Bay area. Our client, a fast-growing market leader in their industry, is continuing to grow and bring on top accounting talent from the surrounding area. This opportunity requires experience with financial reporting, operational accounting, analysis, closing duties, and process documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with other highly skilled accounting professionals in an interesting and evolving industry, with high visibility and defined opportunity for growth.

*This position is offered as a hybrid structure and would require in office 2-3 days a week on average. Therefore, only Tampa Bay based candidates will be considered at this time.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

Maintain GAAP financials as well as prepare and maintain monthly workpapers including balance sheet account reconciliations
Analyze and review operating statements and balance sheets including month end accruals and reclasses
Reconcile monthly bank statements
Prepare monthly reporting packages
Record monthly depreciation and amortization
Update quarterly audit workpapers and prepare reporting packages for quarterly audit including SOX backup requirements
Prepare quarterly and/or monthly lender reporting
Prepare replacement reserve packages for lenders
Generate year end workpapers and coordinate with external auditors on the year end audits
Assist in the annual budget process
Perform special projects as needed and provide support to the accounting and property management teams

Staff Accountant Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required
CPA, or CPA candidate a plus
2+ years of accounting experience, a mix of public and private would be a bonus
Exposure to reconciliations, month-end close duties, and creating financial reports
Strong technology skills – Exposure to complex accounting software, Excel, and other business intelligence tools
Knowledge and experience in U.S. GAAP
Comfortable in a mid-size company setting working within a highly visible and professional environment
People skills are very important. This person must be confident, trustworthy, and dependable

Staff Accountant Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive compensation of $70,000-$80,000, plus defined annual bonus
