In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring the quality, consistency, and release of printed materials, from catalogs and postcards to retail signage, billboards, space ads and various other deliverables.
America’s Favorite Jeweler, Ross-Simons (a division of Luxury Brand Holdings) is seeking a Production/Graphic Designer based in our Cranston, RI office. You will provide accurate, on time and press ready files for catalogs and print layouts as well collaborating/ working on various other tasks as needed. Our annual catalog schedule runs under very tight deadlines, attention to all steps and necessary timelines is integral to our business. (Catalog drops are set by in-home dates that we can’t miss.) Ultimately, we need a team member who’s versed in production, processes, and catalog workflows but also someone who wants the opportunity to cross into more conceptual tasks as well. If you’ve worked in the retail space or within a packaging team in the past, you’ll understand our fast-paced environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Detail-oriented, deadline/timeline and schedule sensitive while ensuring accuracy and maintaining brand integrity.
- Prepare print-ready files for various printing processes, adhering to industry standards and requirements.
- Create various actions, scripting, creating/setting character/paragraph styles and other necessary “master” functions within InDesign necessary for catalog materials.
- Assist with color correction, image manipulation, and file optimization.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including printers and vendors.
- Manage internal and external proofing as well as bluelines.
- Monitor and maintenance of digital assets, fonts, libraries, templates, etc.
- Provide general support to creative department including all presentation prep, supplies & equipment monitoring, print/brand server hierarchy/folders, etc.
- Assist team with facilitating internal photo shoot tasks such as building preproduction decks, developing swipe direction, and working with seasonal theme decks, signage kits, billboards, postcards/mailers, space advertising, corporate materials, etc.
- Some experience with AI technologies such as Midjourney or similar.
Experience and Required Qualifications
- 4-5 years of relevant print production experience.
- Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, focused and an all-around good team player.
- Keen knowledge of prepress, printing processes and various digital and print technologies.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge and Acrobat.
- Work knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and One-Drive as well as using project management tools like Asana.
- Collaborative, good communication skills, accepts constructive feedback, proactive approach to work and above all else maintains a positive attitude/work environment for all team members.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and meet expectations in a deadline-driven work environment while maintaining design standards and brand integrity.
- Preferred Bachelors in Graphic Design / Design / Fine Art or equivalent demonstrated past work experience.
