The Social Media Coordinator role for JAPONESQUE is an opportunity to join a disruptive, digitally savvy beauty company to support our social media strategy and execution.

You know the latest trends in skincare and makeup, are very engaged on social media, thrive in front of the camera, and have an eye for spotting amazing content and talent to support. You live and breathe social media with an always-on mentality, are an early adopter of digital technologies, and have a strong knowledge of social media best practices. You’ve worked with social media management tools before. You have a deep understanding of the “ins and outs” of prime social media platforms - TikTok, Instagram -- and how to create platform-specific content for these channels. You love to come up with new ideas, and you’re able to bring creative ideas to the table.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Portfolio Content Strategy, the Social Media Coordinator will primarily support the social, influencer, and content planning for the JAPONESQUE Brand, as well as support the product sampling needed to support trial and brand strategy.
Responsibilities Include
- Research target audience and discover current trends
- Create engaging copy, video, and image content
- Develop, own, and execute the social media calendar; ensure the plan is aligned to the brand-level marketing calendar in a timely and consistent manner
- Source and collaborate with other brands on monthly social partnerships
- Regularly analyze and monitor social media performance metrics, providing insights, regular reports and recommendations to optimize future strategies
- Help draft content briefs for in house creative and content creators to execute
- Responsible for management and organization of assets released from Marketing and all social/influencer assets
- Supports the Marketing Department with other projects as needed. May include video tutorial development, photoshoot support, event support, talent recruitment and/or education and content creation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
- Proven experience in managing social media accounts for a brand, including content creation and scheduling
- Must have excellent communication skills both through digital tools and IRL
- Ability to work in San Ramon office 2 days per week on a hybrid schedule
- Well-versed in social media platforms and have a deep understanding of how to use platform tools (ex. TikTok and IG Stories/Reels, Cap Cut, Canva and basic video editing etc.)
- Self-starter who is comfortable owning and driving projects involving multiple deliverables and quick turnaround time
- Trend savvy with a deep understanding of Tik Tok trends, viral audios etc.
- Creative mindset with a strong eye for design and aesthetics
- Passion for the beauty and skincare industry strongly preferred
- Experience with Photoshop and/or Adobe tools a plus
