The Senior Project Manager will be working with an existing talented, dedicated team who have immersed themselves in the client product set. The role requires the same approach to complex, digital product projects as the successful candidate must engage in understanding the scope, goals and long term focus of the project.
The role requires someone who can collaborate closely with a wide client stakeholder map (digital, business & technical) to support the extraction and definition of business requirements, identify iterative release opportunities, manage risk and pre-empt impacts, align with commercial goals, align team with project goals and planning, and be a driver of the project.
All human would also require someone who can deliver successful project outcomes using a sprint/kanban methodology and successfully collaborate with designers and engineers to deliver best-in-class digital experiences that people will love to use.
About You
- Strong experience in delivering multiple complex, digital product projects with long term planning & feature mapping, iterative releases & runbooks using agile methodologies across a cross functional team (design, BA, development, QA, analytics & content).
- Effective people leadership and management skills to support an environment for high-functioning, productive and engaged teams to operate.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-management skills ideally in a client services environment.
- Proven strong communication skills through comms and meeting frameworks, reporting, escalation procedures and general engagement - project status transparency and updates.
- Experience working with a digital platform process (end-to-end) and supporting target setting/OKRs with the client.
- Identifying and implementing KPIs and project milestones e.g. creation of Project Charter at the outset of a project.
- Ability to follow team processes and methodologies, using Agile techniques and Jira as a tool for team scheduling, task management.
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, judgement and decision making skills to drive the project/product proactively providing solutions to the client.
- Project leader - key ability to drive the project forward as a wider project team (including client).
- Analytical thinker.
- Experience/familiarity with UX, Design systems (Such as Figma)
- Technical Awareness - Content Management Systems (CMS), use of APIs etc. Technical background is a bonus.
- Understanding of Agile: Scrum, Scrum-ban or Kanban including ceremonies.
- Understanding of Waterfall as may be applicable in a hybrid business environment.
- Competency within the web/digital industry, processes & techniques.
- Comfortable with a hands-on management and collaborative approach.
- Highly organised and able to handle simultaneous solutions and client communications across multiple projects/products.
- Ability to collaborate with and manage a cross-functional team (comprising of Design, BA, Development, QA, Content resources) to deliver the best outcomes and user experiences
- Competency in project planning, estimation and task management and reporting e.g. burndown, task traceability etc.
- Resource management (capacity planning and utilisation) - providing analysis on allocated resource set meeting project demand and engaging with programme lead/client to identify higher/lower resource needs when relevant.
- Ability to bring team ideas to the client and present opportunities.
- Proactively assessing working methods and processes to make recommendations for improvement of digital projects.
About the Role
- Delivering an innovative program of virtual experiences in conjunction with the client’s vision.
- Managing a dedicated team of designers and developers alongside non-dedicated resources to complete projects.
- Managing an established client relationship and understanding the key business objectives and incorporating into agreed project goals.
- Harmonise and facilitate product/project requirements such as feature release planning, daily meetings, demos and story maps.
- Deep understanding of the project scope, goals, dependencies and planning objectives.
- Driving design-led Discovery phases for project scope.
- Liaising between the clients business and technical team stakeholders to assure clear product/project delivery.
- Identifying risks and planning solutions for future obstacles in a timely manner - strategic planning focus to achieve positive results and unblock where necessary.
- Engaging in a multi-vendor environment across client and third-party agencies and promoting process and core design/technical governance strategies.
Experience
- 10 years experience with qualification/certification in a relevant project or product discipline
- 3rd level PO or Scrum qualification (3 years experience)
- Experience in leading digital project delivery end-to-end process on complex projects with multiple stakeholders for both mobile and web apps.
- Agile Methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum - but also competency in handling a hybrid waterfall/agile approach where needed.
- Experience managing feature roadmaps and iterative releases.
- Proven experience in people leadership and management skills in term coordination, supporting high-functioning teams and ensuring strong team engagement.
- Proven experience in achieving project goals.
- Experience with managing scheduled releases, coordinating runbooks and iterative releases across long term product development cycles.
- Experience with Jira and possible experience with key collaboration tools such as Miro, Slack (Figma a bonus).
- Experience in leading out collaborative workshops from both a design or technical focus.
