What we're looking for
Songfinch is looking for a social media intern to join our team in the Marketing department, reporting to our social media manager! As our social media intern, you will support the goal of driving brand awareness, site visitors and revenue by producing and posting content across Songfinch’s social media channels.
Organic social is our virtual business card. It’s our validation source. It’s where people go to answer the question, “Is this a product I should actually buy? With over 30M profile views per month, our social profiles are an opportunity to demonstrate what our brand is all about. That's why it is so important that we show up in a way that represents what we stand for while staying native to the platforms, for both prospective customers and artists.
Our interns have a hands-on opportunity in the day-to-day workflow, learning many facets of the business. You’re right for the role and have a passion for creating compelling content that speaks to our customers. You don’t want hand-holding and are eager to get a hands-on approach to learning new platforms and content styles. A bold idea doesn’t scare you, in fact, it inspires you to work harder and think outside of the box. Plus, that TikTok I just sent you for inspo? You already saw that on your FYP weeks ago. You’re definitely ahead of the trends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in Channel Management: Support in developing organic content to post regularly across social platforms. Learn and understand the nuances of different platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X to help curate content that feels native to each, with bi-weekly platform performance updates.
- Manage Content Scheduling: Use our content planning calendar to schedule out content using Sprout Social. Develop copy as needed for posts.
- Support Brand Presence: Assist in managing our communities with timely responses aligned with our brand voice. This includes responding to comments, answering DM’s, and collecting customer testimonials (our famous reveal videos!).
- Contribute to Campaigns: Assist in content planning and execution for brand partnerships or holiday campaigns. Help determine the best use of social channels to achieve campaign objectives.
- Work Hands on With Creators: Source and contact creators to take part in our affiliate program, and to participate in paid and organic campaigns. Manage day to day communications with ambassadors and support on content ideas for them. Assist with content ideation for our Artist/Influencer content engine, Soundwave.
- React to Trends: Help identify cultural moments and trends on social media, and provide support in translating insights into brand-relevant content.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recent graduate with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Digital Marketing, Communications,Marketing, Social Media or related discipline)
- Must be a self-starter, clear communicator, critical thinker, highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong active listening skills: ability to interpret information and turn it into actionable next steps
- Highest level of professionalism and self-confidence
- Superior time management skills and ability to balance multiple projects
SKILLS
- Experience assisting in creating and publishing content on brand pages.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to a diverse range of creative content.
- Knowledge in performance reporting and analysis, and reporting against KPIs.
- Eagerness to explore new platforms and features.
- Basic proficiency in using design templates in programs like Canva or AI platforms for content creation.
- Sprout Social experience is a plus!
- Basic copywriting skills to support the brand voice on social channels.
- Influencer and creator landscape knowledge.
Terms:
- Candidates must be able to work from our Chicago office or NYC satellite office 3 days a week as Songfinch operates in a Hybrid capacity.
- This is a paid internship with full-time hours (approximately 40) a week.
- Credits: This internship may be eligible for college credit, depending on university requirements.
- Duration: 3-4 month-long program (schedule to be determined in consideration of any school requirements).
- Hourly salary based on previous experience.
