Currently, we are looking for you to join as a Project Manager.
This role can be based in Malta as a remote role, or Sofia, Bulgaria as a hybrid role.
The Role
As we are rapidly expanding, we are now looking for a hands-on project manager, who is passionate about agile project & change management to join our Project Management Office (PMO).
This is a great opportunity for someone who can both manage a Scrum team in the day-to-day work, as well as taking ownership of strategic and more long-term projects. You’ll be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, serving a diverse range of stakeholders, and driving operational excellence to maximise our business's performance and customer satisfaction.
As a project manager in our PMO, it’s crucial to understand the balance of amount governance needed related to each market without implementing blockers, as well as being very hands-on and not be afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. A good understanding of what is needed to operate efficient in both .com and locally regulated markets is essential.
The initial focus will be to efficiently support our Scrum teams in our 6 different Product streams as well as taking on long term project that spans from new regulatory markets to implementing 3rd party tools (including managing the service providers) to support our business needs. You will be working in a fast-paced environment which requires the balance of good planning and at the same time managing business crucial ad-hoc request from markets that needs urgent attention, without causing disruption in the day-to-day operation and at the same time maintain the team's focus on the committed planned work.
You will work closely with our product owners, QA team and developers in different areas, as well as managing any cross-functional development needed. At Ventures Lab we are dedicated to commitment, speed, collaboration, and high quality in all aspects of the work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day scrum ceremonies and applying Agile methodologies for efficient project management and execution.
- Control project planning, such as managing scope, timelines, resource allocation, risk assessment, and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among both internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment and assure progress on project objectives.
- Actively contributing to establish best practices, defined ways of working, progress reports, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the rest of the organisation.
- Prepare estimates and detailed project plans and manage changes to the project as and when needed.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and support the Product Owner in creating high quality user stories for the developers and testers.
- Plan, allocate and manage team resources, according to priority and business needs, and provide estimated delivery timelines to our stakeholders.
- Own and be accountable for project delivery, start to end.
- Supervise and guide provider integration initiatives from their initial stages to successful completion.
- Cultivate a cooperative and supportive team atmosphere and strongly contribute to the success of the PMO.
- Continually pinpoint opportunities for enhancing processes and optimising outcomes.
Key Skills and Experience
- Experience in project management within the online gaming or sports betting sectors.
- Profound comprehension of Agile SDLC Methodologies methodologies and principle
- Experience in navigating and understanding the complexity of both .local and .com markets
- Excellent analytical skills as well as a very structured and solution-oriented way of working.
- Strong communication skills regardless of hierarchy levels, both verbal and written.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills needed.
- Very high self-motivation, open-mindedness, and willingness to perform.
- Possession of certifications like PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent, is a valuable asset.
- Experience of working with and understanding OKRs and KPIs
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in an ambiguous environment through problem-solving and demonstrating teamwork and innovation.
- Technical background or understanding would be a plus.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools such as JIRA, Confluence and project management tools.
- Capable of working both independently but also collaboratively lead cross-functional teams in a hybrid / remote set up across different time zones.
