- Willing to relocate to location Shaw AFB area (South Carolina) – must be onsite 5 days/week
- Preferred to have active clearance but willing to consider candidates that will undergo security clearance upon hiring
Position Summary
As an Azure Architect, your primary responsibility will be supporting our customers moving to Azure. You will
be working with the customer on creating high-level requirements and producing small POC/Design documents
on how Azure can be utilized for new applications or migrating existing applications to Azure. Your focus will
be on utilizing Azure as a PaaS (Platform as a Service) rather than just IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service). This
highly visible position will be working with our government customers in the capacity of helping them
modernize and move to the cloud. This role does not require actual application development or migration of the
applications, rather leading the design and being the point of contact for a given application, assisting with
driving delivery of the customers' desired technical outcomes.
Duties
- Architecting applications that are either being developed on Azure as well as applications that are being
- migrated to Azure.
- Managing the technical design of cloud services that span storage, networking, and compute cloud
- capabilities, with an understanding of each service across the full IT cycle.
- Make recommendations for cloud migration on services to use for optimal performance and scale, as well as provision, ensure sufficient capacity, monitor and adjust as appropriate.
- Convert the technical requirements of a cloud project into the cloud architecture and design.
- Bridging the gaps between complex business problems and solutions in the cloud, while working with
- other members of the technology team including. DevOps engineers and developers to ensure that the
- right technology or technologies are being built.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders who are both technically as well as non-technically skilled.
Minimum Requirements
- BA or MS degree in Management Information System, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of applicable experience.
- Be a US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain proper security clearance.
- Strong background in cloud computing with deep understanding of: Azure Virtual Machines, Storage,
- Virtual Networking, Inter-site Connectivity, Monitoring, Data Protection, Network Traffic Management,
- Azure Active Directory, Security Identities, Governance & Compliance, and Data Services
- Excellent understanding of networking: TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS.
- Possess a good understanding of computer programming and scripting languages while possessing a high-level understanding of key security concepts in the cloud.
- Experience planning and migrating existing workloads to the cloud using cloud native tooling and be
- familiar with automated deployments and Infrastructure as code concepts.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to articulate your ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
