Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and diligent Marketing Data Analyst (MDA) to assist in test design, campaign measurement set up, direct mail and digital campaign analysis, preparation of client-facing presentations and go-forward strategies, ad hoc reporting, relevant research for industry benchmarks and other data topics. The position will have daily contact with the rest of the data team as well as data suppliers and analytical vendors.
This is an important support position for the data team with significant growth potential. The role will focus on expediting thoughtful and accurate campaign analyses under the supervision of the senior members of the data team. The MDA is not expected to present a campaign analysis to clients. This is a unique opportunity to be mentored by industry experts within the data team as well as across the agency.
Key Responsibilities:
Analysis and reporting:
- Study results of data discovery calls with clients to understand reporting and analysis needs
- Proactive set up for campaign analyses
- Quality control on campaign reporting
- Proactive development of dashboard requirements and reporting needs
- Coordination with data engineering including QC
- Development of campaign analysis presentations and reports
- Coordination with senior data team members to review analysis and reporting
- Own all change requests from senior data team members, account executives and clients
Ad Hoc Reporting and Research:
- Own client change requests related to campaign analysis and reporting
- Assist in ad hoc reporting and research as required
- Own the ad hoc reporting function for regular client needs
Software and Client Specific Database Support:
- Manage dashboard versions, inventory, in the dashboard tool
- Manage dashboard timelines and checklists
- Maintain client specific data dictionaries and ERD diagrams
- Own QC routines and checklists
Day-to-day:
- Attend weekly and daily stand-up calls for data team capacity planning
- Be able to work autonomously on data assignments for the weekly sprint
- Coordinate with senior members of the data team about progress and any troubleshooting
- Manage dashboard timelines and checklists
- Maintain client specific data dictionaries and ERD
- Own QC routines and checklists
Other:
- Follow confidentiality, data security and compliance rules
- Contribute to making data project flow more efficient
- Other miscellaneous support tasks as appropriate
Qualifications:
- 2 years minimum marketing campaign analysis or equivalent
- 1 year SQL queries in a work environment
- 1 year experience using dashboard tools (Tableau, Sisense, or other equivalent)
- Education in data science, mathematics, marketing, or related engineering
- Direct mail experience is desired but not necessarily required
- Strong analytical and math skills, including prorating campaign costs
- An ability to work autonomously and to follow instructions
- Detail and accuracy oriented with an initiative-taking work style
- Enjoys meeting agency needs, building trust and being part of a team
- Location can be remote
