We’ve just announced our $1.1m pre-seed round (backed by Google, a VC, former executives at Deliveroo, FARFETCH, LinkedIn and more) and are looking for an awesome Junior Full-Stack Engineer to join the Founding Team of 4 at this exciting and important juncture of our journey.Â
About the role
We’re looking for a Junior Full-Stack Engineer to work alongside our Founding Engineer, developing our platform and building the first iteration of our enterprise solution.Â
At this early stage, we are looking for an ambitious, self-starting and entrepreneurial minded engineer who can ship code quickly, frequently and to a high standard whilst taking into consideration our security and performance requirements. You will be empowered to shape the product with your ideas and not just to code without asking questions.Â
Key responsibilities include:
- Working directly with the Founders and Founding Engineer to to define, develop and maintain the product and engineering roadmap
- Support on bug fixes and maintaining platform stability. This may require working to on-call rotas
- Owning and shipping features quickly, frequently and to a high standard from inception to implementation
- Building, iterating, and refining our development and deployment workflow
- Building exceptional member experiences that encourages users to join Tangent and seamlessly complete the required steps on the platformÂ
What you’ll bring

This role is hybrid (3 days in-person) and we’d love to hear from you if you have some or all of the qualities below:
Required
- 2+ years experience with ReactJS and Typescript/JavascriptÂ
- Experience working with NodeJS
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development tools.
- Happy to ship code into production yourself, rollback quickly when things go wrong and continually improve our deployment process as we grow
- Write well-documented, clean code and participate in code reviews to maintain a high-quality codebase
- Taking initiative and being proactive comes naturallyÂ
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and change
- User-centric approach to developing products
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Continuous learner with a growth mindset and who holds themselves to account
Preferred
- Experience with React Query and Redux or other front-end state management technologies
- Experience with any of the following back-end technologies: Express, tRPC, Docker
- Experience with a relational database, preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience with Figma or other design tools and prototyping platforms.
- Experience building SaaS products
- Experience building products from the ground up and in a startup environment
- Familiarity and experience working with Google Cloud, including any of the following: Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run and Firebase products
