The New Mexico Municipal League/New Mexico Self-Insurers’ Fund (NMML/NMSIF) is looking for a full-time administrative assistant to provide support for our municipal and other insured members. The Municipal League is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing and serving New Mexico’s cities, towns, and villages. In addition to serving 106 municipalities, the Municipal League also provides support for 14 subsections of municipal employees and elected officials and administers the New Mexico Self-Insurers’ Fund.

NMML/NMSIF is seeking an organized, detail-oriented administrative assistant, with a focus on maintaining and organizing records and responding to member correspondence and phone calls.

Administrative Assistant Job Responsibilities

· Provide administrative support for insurance claims processing, including data entry, documentation, and filing.

· Assist in the preparation and distribution of documents, reports, and presentations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

· Answer incoming calls and correspondence, including answering inquiries, taking messages, and directing inquiries to appropriate personnel.

· Organize and maintain files and records, both electronic and physical, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

· Assist in the coordination and execution of meetings, events, workshops, and training sessions.

· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to compliance and regulatory requirements related to insurance operations.

· Conduct routine administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, and scanning.

· Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent member service skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software; familiarity with database software

Required Education & Experience

· Associate degree or higher in related field preferred

· At least five years of administrative experience

· Experience in the insurance or risk management fields is a plus

Work Location

Primary work location is the NMML/NMSIF Santa Fe and/or Albuquerque office. Employees may work one day per week remotely, contingent on job duties and performance.

Compensation

Competitive pay, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, including automatic 10 percent retirement contribution from employer, and up to additional 8 percent retirement fund matching contribution.
