Orange County SC Overview
Orange County Soccer Club is Orange County’s only professional soccer team playing in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship, the fastest growing Division II professional soccer league in the world. The USL Championship is comprised of 30 teams across the United States. The team plays its home games at the Orange County Great Park’s Championship Soccer Stadium, located in Irvine, CA. Nestled in the heart of the Great Park, Championship Soccer Stadium has a capacity of over 5,000 for Orange County SC matches. The schedule consists of 17 regular season home games, plus a handful of additional events. Orange County SC was one of 12 founding members of the USL during its inaugural 2011 season when it played as the LA Blues before moving to Orange County in 2013. In 2021, Orange County SC brought home the USL Championship Cup as the league’s best team beating the Tampa Rowdies, 3-1 in the playoff final to capture the USL Championship title.
Position Overview
This is open to being a part-time or full-time position within the OCSC Marketing Department responsible for the digital strategy and execution, specializing in digital ads. The right candidate will leverage data analytics and will identify fan segments and behaviors to refine targeting strategies and grow the fanbase. Additionally, you will stay ahead of marketing technology trends, provide insights on emerging tech’s impact on revenue generation and have experience increasing ticket sales. Roles & Responsibilities
- Generate a game plan for helping us achieve our ambitious single game targets and increase brand awareness.
- Manage the OCSC digital strategy, planning, execution, budget, reporting and optimization across paid social, search, display and video.
- You’ll run our performance marketing on digital campaigns helping improve the conversion rate.
- Work with our talented creative team (video, motion, static) to discover which assets are most impactful in each channel, with the goal of continuous creative optimization.
- Work with our Ticketing team to build segments and fan profiles from the behavioral and demographic data.
- Leverage paid digital to help grow our database of fans.
- Maintain a digital advertising calendar and share it with the Marketing, Ticket Sales and the Partnerships teams.
- Regularly socialize campaign results to show the impact of digital advertising.
- Keep tabs on the latest marketing technology and recommend, test and measure new tech that can improve efficiencies and drive additional revenue.
- Develop a deep understanding for the business of sports and the behaviors of sports fans.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in performance marketing or digital advertising; ideally at a digital agency or large consumer brand
- A bonus if you’ve worked in sports & entertainment marketing
- Deep understanding of performance marketing channels including Meta, YouTube, Google Display, SEM, email and SMS
- Highly adaptable, with the skills, demeanor and confidence to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with building customer segments and profiles
- Fascination with technology and how businesses can make emerging tech actionable
- Solid writing skills, both for communication to avid fans or colleagues
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or relating field
