Day To Day Operations
1] HIGH Priority PROD Ticket Support / Database Outage Handling
2] Weekend Support
3] Change Management
4] Bug Fixes with Microsoft
5] Consultation to Users / other support team / L2 Team
6] Handling Projects ( like DB migration , Host level upgrades / migrations )
7] Script changes
8] Other Technology Support ( like Delphix / HVR / RTDS )
9] L2 Runbook review
10] Medium / Low PROD/Non-PROD Escalation Handling from L1/L2 team
11] Escalation Reduction / Problem Management
12] Provides Training to L2/L1 team
Skills Required
- Ability to perform day to day database administration tasks with deep understanding of SQL Server internals e.g. Indexing, partitioning , filestream , Always-On , replication cctv and Mirroring technologies.
- Troubleshoot and provide advice on SQL Server performance issues and be able to work with application development teams and provide recommendations.
- Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Knowledge of relational databases, T-SQL, query execution plans, solving concurrency issues and deadlocks
- Knowledge of administrating azure SQL databases is an added advantage.
- Good communication skill and experience to handle P1/P2 outages.
- MSSQL DBA Certification will be added advantage
- Good in Powershell.
