Founded by Cornellians with FAANG & startup experience, Recess is the centralized marketplace for recreational sports games and reservations. Users no longer have to browse multiple forums for players or facilities – Recess sets up matches and reserves facilities on a centralized matchmaker.

Our MVP has launched with an initial user base across 2 college universities.
All current members are anticipating working at Recess full time within the next year. For now, working on Recess as well as full time employment is acceptable.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Frontend Engineer that excels in React Native to lead our frontend development team. The new frontend lead will be instrumental in building out our next Sprint focused on facility integration. College applicants are welcome

Responsibilities:

Lead frontend development using React Native.
Collaborate with the backend team for integration
Collaborate with the design team to implement new prototypes and experiences.
Optimize existing features.
Ensure high performance and responsiveness of the application.
Lead existing frontend members and conduct code reviews.

Technical Competencies:

Primary: React Native
Secondary: React, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, basic Figma,

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Frontend Engineer or similar role.
Strong portfolio of mobile applications built with React Native.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Someone who’s day-to-day actions are primarily motivated by the desire to build & achieve through their work
