Public Works Partners seeks a strategic thinker with sharp communication skills driven to deliver clear, compelling messages through writing and storytelling. The Business Development Manager or Analyst plays a key role in developing persuasive project proposals that strengthen communities, build nonprofit capacity, and enhance public service delivery. These roles involve close collaboration with Public Works leadership to articulate the value of our urban planning and management consulting solutions, laying the groundwork for long-term relationships. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter, comfortable owning projects, working under tight deadlines, and thriving in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications:
§ Strong Project Management: Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams to create compelling business development opportunities, proposals, communication strategies, and marketing materials.
§ Excellent Communication Skills: Proficient in writing and critical thinking, essential for developing client-driven proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
§ Quantitative Expertise: Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate project budgets effectively.
§ Creative and Strategic Thinking: Capable of engaging diverse technical and non-technical groups and presenting business development strategies to both internal leadership and external clients.
§ Entrepreneurial Spirit: Agile networker and problem-solver, thriving in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance, and adept at building and maintaining executive and working-level relationships.
§ Education & Skills: Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years relevant full-time business development experience in consultancies, startups, or similar professional services firms. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
§ Foundational knowledge in public policy, economic development, urban planning, city, and state government operations, or nonprofit or institutional management.
§ Experience with B2B marketing and communications.
§ Experience creating and manipulating content using the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
