Temporary role: 2 months (possibility of extension)
This role is responsible for facilitating all key HR functions, which includes recruiting, onboarding, administering benefits, policies, procedures and programs of the organization while ensuring all local and federal regulations are followed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates proper employee documentation and records in HR systems, compiling reports as needed to ensure employee databases remain accurate and up to date.
- Develops, implements, reinforces and modifies HR policies, programs, and procedures. Audits HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements.
- Manages and leads policy HR training, programs and ensure awareness of appropriate HR policies, programs, and procedures and expectations.
- Provides support for on-boarding and off-boarding, and leading with exit interviews.
- Partners closely with the supervisors to provide advice, coaching, and counsel in relation to processes.
- Lead the local recruitment process by working closely with staffing agencies and managing postings on Paycor.
- Process and track all FMLA/ADA/ leaves, required paperwork and ensure time sheets are submitted timely to payroll.
- Provides on-going support with initial safety and worker's compensation documentation.
- Works closely with HR manager to support with scheduling security coverage, teammate relations activities, and supervisor cross training ideas.
- Ensure that all required postings are update to date and meet regulatory compliance.
- Provide management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals counseling techniques or documentation of performance issues.
- Conducts periodic HR Health Checks, assists with creating action plans to improve performance.
- Trains assistant clerks and security clerks with safety and HR trainings.
- Assists with other duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the HR field
- Knowledge and experience in local, state and federal laws related to HR.
- Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, Google platform, and HRIS software.
- SHRM-CP Certified
- Experience in JD Edwards
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or commensurate experience)
- Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
- Excellent record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
