About the role: Our Quantitative team is working on creating a systematic trading product designed for financial markets. The Data Engineer plays a key role in supporting the team and actively participating in the collaborative development of the product, with a particular focus on the data component. Target start date is January 2025
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Quantitative team in establishing and managing internal data engineering infrastructures.
- Involves incorporating data from diverse sources into a centralized platform, implementing ETL processes, setting up automated data processing pipelines, conducting data quality checks, and ensuring optimal scalability and accessibility of the infrastructure.
- Explore and comprehend various types of financial market data, including alternative data characterized by significant volume and a high level of granularity.
- Engage with the quant team to grasp the researchers' needs and develop functional data tools tailored for team use.
- Maintain and improve the current data engineering infrastructures by adding new features or implementing brand-new components to improve efficiency.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- B.S or M.S in computer science, data science, or other engineering fields
- Proficient in Python, have relevant project experience using this language
- Strong interest in financial markets data, alternative data analysis
- Strong interest in learning new techniques in big data processing and analysis
- A fast learner, a detail-oriented person, and with good communication skill
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Experience in big data engineering in using Python, Java, Spark/Hadoop, SQL etc.
- Experience in database management in using SQL, AWS, Google Cloud services etc.
- Experience in OOP programming and big data analysis
- Knowledge of the financial market and financial securities
