Role Description
This is a contract role for a SQL Database Administrator. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with managing and maintaining databases. This includes tasks such as database administration, replication, database design, troubleshooting, and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of the databases. This is a hybrid role, located in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area, with flexibility for some remote work.
Tasks
- Support SQL server applications
- Supporting SQL Server components, including SSIS and SSRS
- Maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes
- Performing SQL backups and Disaster Recovery
- Performing database migrations & upgrades
- Working with Azure SQL technologies
- Documenting work and processes
- Provide mentorship to other DBAs on the team
- Provide knowledge transfer
Qualifications
- Experience with SQL server applications and supporting components, including SSIS and SSRS.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes.
- Experience in mentor IT staff and database design
- Experience in assessing and introducing new technologies to improve operation of database infrastructure.
- Experience as a lead worker in a team of subject matter experts of varying capacities
- Experience in Microsoft Azure SQL technologies.
- Experience with AlwaysOn and other High Availability SQL technologies
