MUST:
- 1+ years of data analyst experience (3+ is ideal)
- Expert in Excel – the inputs/outputs are in excel , but ultimately we want to automate pulling in of data
- Expert with complex querying in Excel
- Experience with visualizations in either Powerbi, tableau, or similar tool
- Experience working with databases (design, maintenance, data management)
- Experience working with data from different sources in a non-automated environment
- Strong communication- working with all of the depts + can work independently, proactively finds things to work on, curious
PLUS:
- Stop loss experience
- Bachelors degree
- Has been a data analyst within health insurance claims data, close 2nd would be employee benefits data (census data and benefits plans), 3rd would be patient data from healthcare (that is data that turns into a claim)
DAY TO DAY:
Our client, a fast growing health and benefits insurance company located in Paoli, PA is seeking a Data Analyst to join their Stop Loss team. The Data Analyst will provide data analysis coverage for claims related functions. This role could grow into many different projects and has a very exciting future. Currently this group works primarily in Excel for their inputs/outputs and also utilizes PowerBI for visualization, however they are working on finding automated solutions and implementing new technology. We are looking to hire someone who can take reports and data from our CPA partners, pull data from those reports, and then make dashboards from there/translate the data from there. This includes mapping of data. Additionally, The Data Analyst will work on troubleshooting any errors in formulas and problems within the data , for example if a monthly stop loss report isn’t matching the data in the model, this person will understand why and even work to create an alerting system down the road. This person will also cross check the data, validate the data, pull data in, and creating a work product that makes it easier for us to work with. Our team performs analysis weekly, and works across departments to get the pieces of data we need internally that aren’t all housed in the same system.
Additionally, primary responsibilities will include database design and maintenance, ensuring data accuracy, automating processes, generating reports, and providing analytical support to optimize level-funding operations. This person is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive database to track level-funding data, including claims, enrollment, and financial transactions. They ensure data accuracy through meticulous verification processes and automate data imports to minimize manual entries. Collaborating closely with accounting and other departments, they generate reports and identify discrepancies to streamline level-funding administration. Additionally, they provide analytical support to optimize operations, working alongside Stop Loss Analysts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in managing level-funded programs.
