Role Overview
The Venture Capital Intern/Venture Fellow will work closely with the investment team to support various aspects of the firm's investment process. This includes deal sourcing, due diligence, sector/vertical research, competitive analysis, risk analysis, and other relevant projects. The intern will gain hands-on experience in evaluating investment opportunities in high-growth technology startups.
Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing and Due Diligence
- Source and evaluate new investment opportunities
- Conduct due diligence including market analysis, financial modeling, and assessing business plans
- Prepare investment materials for committee meetings
Sector/Vertical Research and Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research on specific industry sectors and verticals
- Analyze competitive landscapes, market trends, and emerging technologies
- Identify potential investment themes and opportunities
Risk Analysis
- Assess key risks for potential investments
- Develop risk mitigation strategies
General Responsibilities
- Build financial models and conduct quantitative analysis
- Participate in investment team meetings and discussions
- Undertake research projects and prepare reports/presentations
- Provide support on relevant projects
Qualifications
- Current graduate student in relevant degree program
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, research, and valuation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Intellectual curiosity about technology trends and business models
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Prior experience in investments or relevant industries is a plus
Note: Unpaid internship/fellowship. 10-20 hours per week. Valuable experience and potential school credit. This role focuses on evaluating investment opportunities through deal sourcing, due diligence, sector research, competitive analysis, and risk assessments. Relevant experience is valued, and interns/fellows will build critical skills while supporting the investment team.
