FluoretiQ Limited is a diagnostic company based in Bristol that develops fast, accurate, and point-of-care diagnostics for antibiotic use. Our technologies include NANOPLEX, an advanced latex agglutination test that identifies and quantifies the cause of infection in 15 minutes, and SCFI, a phenotypic, real-time, and growth-free antibiotic susceptibility test that determines the most effective antibiotic in 30 minutes.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Machine Learning Engineer located in Bristol. The Machine Learning Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing predictive models and algorithms, analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and support integration into product systems.
Core Responsibilities
· Perform regular Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to assess the results of different experiments
· Maintain, improve and develop Computer Vision algorithms
· Build Machine Learning models for classification of diagnostic outcomes.
· Integrate algorithms and models into product systems.
· Give input to design of experiments and capture of performance measures
· Maintain data management systems
· Maintain detailed documentation and version control of software
· Collaborate with other diverse Scientists and Engineers
· Be expected to work independently
· Participate in the entire research and development lifecycle
Qualifications and Skills
· A team player with strong interest in building a career in the Life Science sector
· MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Biostatistics or related field
· Programming skills in Python, basics of image analysis software such as ImageJ.
· Knowledge of regular EDA stack: Pandas, Seaborn, Matplotlib, numpy.
· Knowledge of Computer Vision libraries such as OpenCV, SKimage.
· Knowledge of Regular Machine Learning & Deep Learning stack such as SKlearn, Keras & pyTorch.
· Experience in statistical methods and data modelling techniques
· Experienced in data visualisation
· Analytical thinker with good problem-solving skills to overcome technical issues
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
