Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager with General Contractor License to join our team. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our company's operations. This includes supervising staff, driving sales, managing projects, implementing process improvements, as well as assess the costs associated with construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in business development.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of employees, providing guidance and support
- Oversee project management, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
- Conduct strategic planning to align operations with company goals and objectives
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize cost savings
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on operational performance
- Review Project Documentation: Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documentation to understand project requirements and scope
- Determine the quantity of materials, labor, and equipment needed for each phase of the construction project based on project specifications and industry standards
- Negotiate prices and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to project budget
- Compile detailed cost estimates and present them to project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and project managers. Clearly communicate assumptions, methodologies, and potential risks associated with the estimates
- Collaborate with project teams to explore alternative materials, construction methods, or design options to achieve cost savings
- Keep accurate records of cost estimates, pricing data, and project-related information. Update cost databases regularly to reflect current market trends, material prices, and labor rates
- Work closely with project managers to develop project schedules and timelines aligned with cost estimates
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction technologies, and best practices in cost estimation. Participate in training programs, seminars, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and expertise
Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role as an Construction Operations Manager
- Strong background in sales, business development, and project management
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive results
- Experience in process improvement and implementing operational strategies
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Proficient in analyzing data and making data-driven decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically
- Knowledge of profit loss analysis and financial management principles
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
- Proven 3-5 yrs. experience as a construction estimator or similar role in the construction industry
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools, such as RSMeans, ProEst, or Sage Estimating
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations.

Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
