Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated contractor for a 15 month term to join our team as a Technical Project Manager to oversee the development and implementation of a new product within our portfolio. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. This is a contract position with the opportunity for extension based on project needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements and prioritize tasks to align with business objectives.
- Execute project plans, monitor progress, and proactively identify and address potential risks or obstacles.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Facilitate cross-functional project teams composed of software developers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Delegate tasks effectively, provide clear direction, and empower team members to take ownership of their responsibilities.
Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and risks.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment between project goals and business objectives.
- Solicit feedback from stakeholders and incorporate input to drive continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Work closely with QA and the Product team to define testing strategies, conduct test case reviews, and validate deliverables..
Risk Management and Mitigation:
- Identify potential risks and dependencies early in the project lifecycle and develop mitigation plans to address them.
- Monitor risk factors throughout the project and implement contingency plans to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
- Escalate critical issues or roadblocks to senior management as needed, providing recommendations for resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects from inception to completion, preferably in the software development or IT industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall, with relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, CAPM) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in an educational technology or EdTech environment is a plus.

Location: Remote with the possibility of occasional travel as needed for team meetings or client engagements.
