Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating and managing interactive user content as well as documenting complex product capabilities. This role involves partnering with various stakeholders across the organization to produce clear, concise, and user-friendly content that enhances the user experience and facilitates the effective use of ECL’s software products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interactive Content Creation:
- Design and develop interactive user guides, tutorials, and help systems that enhance the user experience.
- Utilize multimedia tools to create engaging and informative content such as videos, infographics, and interactive modules.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure content is seamlessly integrated into the software.
- Documentation:
- Write, edit, and maintain comprehensive documentation for software products, including user manuals, release notes, API documentation, and online help.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear and accessible content for a variety of audiences, including end-users, system administrators, and developers.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligns with the product's functionality and features.
- Address product documentation gap that exists within the organization to help address knowledge gaps as the company scales its teams.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams to gather information and understand the functionality of the software.
- Participate in product planning and review meetings to stay informed about new features and updates.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review and edit content created by other team members to ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy.
- Test and validate documentation against the software to ensure all instructions are accurate and executable.
- Implement and maintain documentation standards and best practices.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines.
- Use project management tools to track progress and report on the status of documentation projects.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in the software industry.
- Proven experience in creating interactive user content .
- Skills:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate them into user-friendly content.
- Proficiency in multimedia content creation tools.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
