Job Summary:
The Remote System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems and networks. This role involves monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support to employees and clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware components.
- Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems to protect company data and systems.
- Monitor system performance, perform regular backups, and conduct routine maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- Provide technical support to employees and clients, addressing issues related to system access, software applications, and hardware functionality.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and security protocols.
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline system administration tasks and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with other IT team members and departments to support technology initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in system administration or a related IT role.
- Proficiency in managing Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems; experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud); strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience implementing security measures to protect IT infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a remote work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $157,900.00 - $188,400.00 per year
