At Population Media Center (PMC), we know stories change the world, and we are looking for another results-driven storyteller to join our Marketing and Communications team. The Digital Marketing and Advertising Manager will be responsible for paid digital and social media, connecting with our country teams to support their in-country visibility raising and uncovering amazing stories from our teams to tell globally. This person is a one-stop marketing agency, excited to work with people from all cultures, tell stories across formats and channels, and produce great content. The successful candidate will be passionate about our mission’s focus (rights of women and girls, population growth, and environmental sustainability) and our approach to transformative storytelling. The individual in this position must be able to analyze data, think creatively about how to tell powerful stories, and be comfortable working in diverse settings.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
· Serve as a key link to PMC’s 10 country offices, understanding their work, powerful stories, and getting those stories told across PMC’s global channels at HQ as well as locally.
· Manage PMC’s global digital advertising, including strategizing, designing, and writing digital ads, including social, Google AdWords grants, and paid search.
· Manage PMC social channels in collaboration with colleagues, including determining paid strategies to benefit local country teams as well as global positioning.
· Work closely with Content Strategist to create a large portfolio of powerful written communications (features, op-eds, press releases, fact sheets, case studies, white papers, etc.) to release via PMC channels, partners, and earned media.
· Design visuals and visual content for social, websites, and other platforms. Graphic design for reports, white papers, and other formats.
· Keep PMC’s finger on the pulse of current events, opportunities, detractors, partners, and competitors in international development, entertainment-education, the issues inherent to PMC’s mission, etc. via engaging directly and connecting meaningfully with other departments and country teams.
· Manage the development and implementation of digital grassroots advocacy strategies, including strategic campaigns designed to attract key target audiences (B2B and B2C).
· In collaboration with colleagues, edit and update PMC websites, build landing pages, analyze traffic, SEO, and automation.
· In partnership with colleagues, monitor event marketing and post-event (PMC event or our global team attending an event) lead nurture in collaboration with Marketing and Development teams.
· Provide internal trainings on brand and positioning, digital marketing, digital channels, public speaking, and other topics as requested by colleagues.
· Analyze impact of your work across digital channels, leveraging data from Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, Paid Search, and Social.
· Works closely with a PR consultant and/or other colleagues and vendors to garner support and expertise in executing PR initiatives effectively.
· Experience creating videos or other multi-media content a huge plus.

- Social and behavioral change communications (SBCC) and social impact entertainment (SIE) within entertainment-education, international development, and entertainment industries
Skills and Experience:
Required:
· 2+ years of digital experience in digital marketing, issue-based campaigns, growth marketing, issue advocacy, grassroots mobilization, or public relations
- 2+ years of content creation, with expertise in short- and long-form writing for different channels, types of publications, and audiences
- Experience working with diverse teams to find and tell stories for a variety of external audiences
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data from various sources and technical journals and offer creative marketing ideas
· Ability to speak publicly and respond to (inquiries, accolades, or complaints) donors, partners, media, and the general public
· Experience managing social media channels
· Experience managing paid ads
· Knowledge of SEO and ability to write for search optimization
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (Adobe Premiere and Illustrator, a plus)
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strongly Preferred:
- Familiarity with one or more of PMC’s focus areas (rights of women and girls, population, environmental sustainability, entertainment for social impact)
- Graphic design, data visualization, and/or video production
- Knowledge of marketing automation software, preferably HubSpot
- Knowledge of CMS, preferably WordPress
- Knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce
- Spanish or French proficiency
- Experience creating videos or other multi-media content a plus
Qualifications: Minimum Education
· BA/BS in communications, marketing, public relations, social sciences, public health, environmental science, demography, or related field. Background in organizing for social change and/or advocacy helpful.

Location:
- PMC HQ is based in South Burlington, Vermont, but this position is fully remote
- Work hours will depend on the need to participate in PMC meetings and activities across different time zones.
