Role Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Community Physician Health & Safety Program, the Project Coordinator provides support to SWITCH BC’s achievement of key strategic objectives. The Project Coordinator is actively involved in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of projects, and maintains primary project coordination responsibility. This role supports team efforts on ongoing projects/programs and initiatives to improve the designated project objectives and deliverables and liaises with various partners.
The Project Coordinator shows interest in project management, change management, and business analytics with a passion for collaborative innovation in occupational health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out project plans as directed by the Manager, Community Physician Health & Safety Program and SWITCH BC Leadership; monitors project deliverables and performs project documentation; identifies needed resources, conducts research, refines, and documents operational processes, assigns responsibilities, and develops timeframes to facilitate successful completion of project activities and deliverables; coordinates cross-functional work teams and assigned resources in fulfilling assignments.
- Tracks project development according to approved project charter and reports on variances. Makes recommendations to the Project Manager and/or Program Manager to ensure scope of work does not expand without appropriate approval and adjustments to the budget and schedule.
- Monitors and coordinates the work of the SWITCH BC teams from initial planning and design stages through to implementation, and completion. Ensures two-way information flow and that project work of the various teams is on track, and is in keeping with project protocols, organizational policies, procedures, and direction. Ensures risks and issues are reviewed, resolved, or escalated to the appropriate level to meet project delivery user requirements and project timelines.
- Prepares documents including correspondence, meeting minutes, presentations, templates, spreadsheets, organization and flow charts, project plans, and reports using various software. Prepares and formats reports, graphical presentations, and other project documents as required.
- Champions planning and project methodologies and best practice through mentoring, coaching, and communicating with team members and partners. Remains current with emerging trends in project management and contributes to the implementation of these at SWITCH BC.
- Fosters a safe, just work environment, encouraging and welcoming open identification of issues, non-violent dialogue, and cultural humility practices for cultural safety.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Capabilities
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to bachelor’s degree in a technical or health discipline such as Health Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, Project Management, or Business Administration, and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in technical healthcare related areas.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and comprehensive technical abilities in project management and process coordination.
- Proven ability to plan, multi-task, organize, problem-solve, and prioritize work.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities or unforeseen opportunities and coordinate complex meetings with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to operate independently and complete assigned work within sensitive timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with the ability facilitate meetings effectively.
- Intermediate to advanced skills using computerized software, databases, and systems (such as SharePoint), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Projects).
- Demonstrated competencies in relational practice as well as personal commitment to cultural safety and humility practices.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role.

Job Type: Temporary Full-Time (Contract ends July 22, 2025 with the potential of extension)
Salary Range: $74,618-$93,273 (Range 7) per year depending on experience
Typical Hiring Range: $74,618 - $88,609 per year depending on experience
The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience as well as internal equity and would be in alignment with SWITCH BC’s compensation framework.
Please note that this is a remote worker position (must reside in BC) and only candidates that live in BC will be interviewed.
Occasional travel for in-person events and meetings is required.
