Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Remote Construction Manager to oversee site supervisors and trades across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience, particularly in retail build-outs, and a proven ability to manage teams remotely while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee site supervisors and trades remotely, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Develop and implement project schedules and timelines, and monitor progress to achieve milestones and deadlines.
- Conduct regular site visits (where feasible) or virtual inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and control costs effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and oversee rough-in and final inspections, ensuring all necessary approvals and certifications are obtained.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all project sites.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, issues, and risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction project management, with a strong emphasis on retail build-outs.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in remote management of site supervisors and construction teams.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, etc.).
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, documents, and specifications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CMIT (Certified Manager in Construction) are a plus.
- Experience with LEED or other sustainability certifications in construction projects.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
