The Mailworks is a woman-owned family business specializing in the creation and distribution of direct mail campaigns for a nationwide customer base. Operating 24 hours a day, usually 6 days a week, The Mailworks employs a team of over 90 professionals ranging from executives and marketing specialists to designers, developers, and production workers.
The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the creation, planning, execution, and management of all design elements from conception to final delivery. This role encompasses designing, conceptualizing, writing, refining, and maintaining The Mailworks' brand standards. It also involves providing feedback and guidance to both external partners and internal team members as needed. The designer serves as the project manager for multiple creative projects within the Marketing and Sales department. This involves engaging with stakeholders from the initial stages to understand their needs and developing creative concepts that enhance brand awareness and drive revenue across both digital and print campaigns. Projects include direct mail, email campaigns, digital paid advertisements, case studies, long-form content downloads, Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising, videos, infographics, website pages, social media graphics, event collateral, and more.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing with business objectives in mind, recognizing that effective design solves business challenges and supports strategic initiatives. They should have a proven ability to develop concepts, guide internal/external designers as needed, and create campaign materials that align with revenue goals.

The ideal candidate will proactively seek the necessary information to complete projects and demonstrate a capacity for self-directed work. Duties:
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT & EXECUTION
- Ensure all design work is on-brand and aligns with The Mailworks’ strategic and business goals.
- Maintain and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistency in quality, tone, look, and personality across all channels and materials.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor strategies to maintain The Mailworks’ competitive edge.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, actively listening and communicating to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Lead and contribute to brainstorming sessions, focusing on problem-solving and generating creative, functional solutions that are aligned with brand standards.
- Stay updated with B2B design trends, AI advancements, and production tools, and recommend their adoption as appropriate.
- Employ a B2B marketing mindset to create design assets that cater to different stages of the sales funnel.
- Design and participate in internal and external events to enhance The Mailworks’ culture and foster sales opportunities.
- Demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude towards all assigned tasks, and a willingness to contribute beyond regular working hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.
- Deliver high-quality design outputs efficiently, meeting project timelines without compromising on the creative and technical standards expected.
INTEGRATED CAMPAIGN DESIGN
- Develop and execute comprehensive design strategies that support departmental sales goals.
- Produce visually appealing and effective design solutions across digital and print media for both internal and external audiences.
- Conceptualize and execute design projects, integrating copy as needed across various media including direct mail, emails, landing pages, webinars, social media, blogs, videos, sales collateral, events, OOH, signage, special gifts, presentations, software elements, and long-form content.
- Optimize all designs for SEO and user experience.
- Maintain and elevate brand guidelines to ensure consistent visual identity across platforms and channels.
- Utilize AI tools like ChatGPT for brainstorming, market research, audience insights, and feedback to support informed design decisions and collaboration.
- Utilize a range of design software appropriate to the project requirements, with a strong capability in both Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, ensuring all designs are created to align with production needs.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT + OWNERSHIP
- Monitor all projects, updating key stakeholders and project management tools with current statuses, and proactively addressing roadblocks.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure internal and external brand consistency.
- Educate and support team members on the implementation of brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing + Sales to evolve and improve brand guidelines as new solutions and features are developed.
- Establish and monitor design, production processes to increase project efficiency and quality.
- Lead external and or internal design teams on key initiatives
COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
- Partner with the Marketing + Sales team to develop creative concepts and design strategies that effectively meet project goals.
- Collaborate with the Client Services team to create design strategies that support client retention and acquisition strategies..
- Work with cross functional external teams to process feedback, edit artwork and finalize files
- Collaborate and partner with the Digital Marketing Specialist and Content Marketing Specialist to ensure designs being produced follow best practices and are channel appropriate.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in design
- 4+ years of graphic design experience on a marketing/sales team (B2B preferred)
- Thinks like a marketer; solid understanding of the sales funnel, experience/knowledge of best practices across various digital and print channels
- Strong understanding of creative for paid digital ads, such as Linkedin, Instagram/Facebook, Google
- Experience designing email, using a CRM such as Hubspot/Salesforce with knowledge of best design practices for engagement and open rates
- Experience in UI/UX, designing for web, graphics, landing pages
- Demonstrates a strong drive and passion for design, understanding that exceptional design contributes to business value and directly impacts revenue
- Ability to write basic, creative supporting copy for concepting and campaigns
- Strong self proofing process, identifies and corrects any errors, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement before submitting the work for further review or final approval
- Experience in video creation and or animation a plus

- Assist with event setup and various other initiatives. For example, this includes tasks such as putting up backdrops, hanging signage, traveling to trade show events, etc.
