JOB SUMMARY
Plans, directs and coordinates engineering and scheduling activities of designated project(s) to ensure that goals or objectives of project(s) are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through collaboration with Site Supervision and Project Teams.
SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Manage professional Staff responsible for design and project construction;
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget;
- Assist subordinate Supervisors in maintaining production on budget and schedule;
- Review project estimate or plan to determine schedule, estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project;
- Understand project documents for completeness or inadequacies; and understand timing needed to acquire shop drawings and or clarification to allow sufficient lead-time for planning and scheduling production with a minimum of mistakes or delays;
- Oversee Staff to assure completeness and accuracy of shop drawings;
- Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delay of production;
- Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project, working closely with Human Resources in recruitment efforts as necessary;
- Oversee coordination with Project Staff to outline work plans, assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority;
- Review status and modify schedules or plans as required and prepare project reports for Management, Owners and subcontractors;
- Follow-up on directives and be continuously on the alert for situations that are not progressing productively and for opportunities to improve project performance;
- Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems;
- Work closely with Company Employees, project Supervisors, Owners, external teams and support people to get commitments regarding PM's managerial and supervisory requests;
- Provide positive safety leadership to the project;
- Review field operation and ensure that the project provides a safe workplace;
- Coordinate the preparation and updating of the formal project construction schedule as required by the contract documents;
- Coordinate resource use with project Superintendent (e.g. Craft assignment, crew sizes and project layout for offices, traffic flow and material storage);
- Responsible for claims management and documentation;
- Coordinate material purchases- assure that subcontractor agreements are prepared and change orders are accurate and issued to Owners, subcontractors and suppliers;
- Approve subcontractor billing;
- Generate pay estimates;
- Set up and maintain cost code system;
- Conduct performance reviews with reports;
- Manage subcontractor, Owner and public relations;
- Maintain relationships with contracting agencies and Executive Management;
- Participate in project presentations to elected officials, general public and other stake holders;
- Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory bodies or other governmental agencies;
- Responsible for project closeout- secure loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retainages, supporting Supervisor and expediting claims;
- Debriefing of project to review all positive and negative aspects after completion;
- Exercise confidently negotiating any and all matters on behalf of Company or JV as they relate to cost, schedule and contract matters with Owner, subcontractors and suppliers;
- Knowledge and understanding of Union Agreement and wage rules;
- Set productive, consistent and acceptable work example;
- Maintain knowledge of Quattro’s Company Values and Strategic Plan;
- Support published Corporate Policies; and
- Perform additional assignments per Management’s direction.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training Employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplinary actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of 8 years related experience and/or training;
- Or 10 years related experience and/or training;
- EIT or P. Eng. designation preferred; and
- Construction, design, finance, and management experience required.
Certifications and/or Licensing Requirements
- Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred;
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Required Company or Regulatory Certifications; and
- Required Company Safety Certifications.
LANGUAGE, MATH AND REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents;
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or request for changes/claims from subcontractors, Management, co-workers, regulatory agencies or Owners;
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format;
- Ability to effectively present information to Executive Management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors;
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry and trigonometry;
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations;
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; and
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

SALARY RANGE
$110,000 - $150,000/yr
Salary will commensurate with education and experience.
