Job Description:
This role focuses on identifying emerging technologies, managing technology deployments, and overseeing maintenance and support operations of technology platforms and services. Responsibilities include enforcing centralized standards, procedures, and policies, and collaborating with leadership and department teams to drive the conceptualization, transformation, delivery, and technical realization of multiple technology solutions. The goal is to create efficient and innovative platforms for both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead resources in setting short- and long-term goals for various departments and agencies.
- Head the Low-code/No-code Center of Excellence and the technical team.
- Plan, design, securely configure, and deploy applications and business systems, emphasizing low-code/no-code platforms.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to identify opportunities for digital innovation and transformation.
- Assess current platforms and solutions to recommend enhancements or replacements for legacy systems, continuously building an enterprise IT product and service catalog.
- Lead evaluation and standardization activities for emerging technologies.
- Implement and improve current deployment practices and change request processes.
- Develop a DevOps implementation roadmap and ensure adherence.
- Supervise the development and maintenance of secure, sustainable, innovative, and scalable solutions.
- Ensure proper documentation for platforms and solutions.
- Direct other entities in IT development, modification, maintenance, and software acquisition.
- Provide consultancy and technical assistance on IT systems standards and design, establishing software product specifications.
- Assist in the professional development of staff, developing strategic staffing and succession plans.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to resources, identify career paths, and strategize hiring needs for technological evolution.
- Plan and deliver a long-term IT roadmap.
Supervision:
Works under the administrative direction of senior leadership with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Performance is reviewed through consultations and written reports for conformance to established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Location and Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Location: Providence, RI
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in IT management systems.
- Ability to apply this knowledge in planning, organization, direction, coordination, and administration of related functions.
- In-depth understanding of organizational functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to supervise central information management systems.
- Proficiency in planning, directing, and reviewing the work of professional, technical, and clerical staff.
Education and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or a closely related field such as Business Management or Public Administration.
- Completion of specialized IT and research training courses.
Experience:
- Significant experience in a responsible solution architect position within a major IT support operation.
- Extensive experience with low-code/no-code platforms, data and AI implementations, cloud infrastructure, and zero-trust architecture.
- Proficiency in writing technical procedures and policy documents.
- Experience with enterprise and/or departmental applications.
