Sanrio is looking for a Marketing Content Manager who has demonstrated success in managing content production in a Creative environment from end to end. Under the direction of the Brand Marketing Director, this role manages the entire lifecycle of content production: including storytelling, brand creative, content development, and content creation to achieve brand content goals that include increased awareness, engagement, and affinity for Sanrio characters. The Details (AKA: Job Responsibilities)
Content Development:
- Provide brand and storytelling direction for developing content utilized across the company to achieve brand goals and establish consistent brand identity and communications.
- Develop content for consumers (B2C) on Sanrio’s global YouTube channel, and Sanrio’s social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X, Facebook, and digital distribution modules.
- Manage agencies and vendors including but not limited to writers, animators, graphic designers, editors, voice-over talent and other industry professionals on an as-needed basis while serving as the primary liaison on behalf of Sanrio.
- Procure, negotiate, and manage new agencies as needed for content projects.
- Collaborate with outside agencies and internal stakeholders including Brand and Creative departments.
- Compile information for internal monthly report which includes data points from established KPIs and OKRs, anecdotes/feedback from fans (“Notables”), and other metrics.
- Manage content submissions – provide direction, guidance, feedback and overall brand direction.
- Provide Brand team with new content formats and storyline ideas for consideration.
- Create briefs at the start of projects to be shared internally and with agencies to ensure alignment on project, goals, deliverables, etc.
- Stay on top of trends and test new YouTube and social platform functionalities as they become available and make recommendations.
- Negotiate and manage contract/legal process with agencies and vendors and Sanrio legal department.
Marketing:
- Interface regularly with Brand Marketing team members and other departments such as Sales, Business Development, E-Commerce, Creative, Legal to maintain communication and information sharing.
- Provide feedback on potential brands and collaborations/promotions and pop culture touchpoints and brainstorm ideas.
- Create presentations as needed.
- Submit invoices and vendor set-ups and issue POs to Accounting.
- Draft, submit and organize Project Approval Requests (PARs).
- Monitor and maintain expense account and budget.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
General Skills:
- Troubleshooting/problem-solving: Must initiate and rectify daily challenges that may arise with both internal staff/departments and external partners.
- Ability to navigate through company org and influence others to achieve project goals.
- Guide and mentor staff member(s) as applicable.
- As a manager, required to attend meetings as needed—especially if a Marketing “kick-off” meeting and/or a business meeting that requires Marketing’s input/brainstorm.
- Participate and engage in conversations and discussions for both internal department/external partner meetings as the main Marketing liaison.
- Must be nimble and flexible in working outside of primary job description to be the Marketing representative as needed – a team player.
- Support Marketing Department in driving the company’s Branding, PR, Marketing, corporate communications and overall Brand initiatives.
- Support Marketing Department across various categories, including event management and production.
- Communicate Sanrio’s overall Brand guidelines to partners and ensure Brand is properly represented to consumers.
What do YOU bring to the table (AKA: Experience prerequisites):
- BA/BS in business with brand, marketing, digital and animation, preferred or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years related work experience with Brand, Marketing and Content projects.
- Proven success with managing content projects from concept to completion.
- Proven success with building and managing marketing campaigns.
- Experience with paid content advertising.
- Must possess excellent project management skills, copywriting, organization/prioritization, problem-solving, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm and affinity for the Sanrio Brand & characters and knowledge of pop culture a huge plus.
- English/other language bilingual skills are a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Some travel (up to 10%) may be required.
