We are seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our IT team. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our employees and ensuring efficient operation of computer systems, networks, and software applications. This role requires a customer-focused approach, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to resolve technical issues promptly.
Roles And Responsibilities - Technical Support:
- Provide first-level technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or in person, and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
- Hardware and Software Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware devices.
- Install and upgrade software applications, perform patches and updates, and ensure licensing compliance.
- Network Administration:
- Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure network security protocols are followed.
- User Account Management:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory or similar directory services.
- Set up new user accounts, email accounts, and profiles, and reset passwords as required.
- IT Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain IT documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.
- Conduct training sessions or provide one-on-one training to users on IT systems and applications.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor system performance, conduct routine maintenance tasks, and perform backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Implement security measures, such as antivirus software updates and endpoint protection.
- IT Procurement and Inventory Management:
- Assist in IT procurement activities, including researching vendors, obtaining quotes, and purchasing hardware and software.
- Maintain IT inventory records, track assets, and manage equipment disposal and recycling processes.
- IT Projects and Upgrades:
- Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Collaborate with IT team members and stakeholders to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
Skills And Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
- X+ years of experience in IT support roles, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common software applications.
- Knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and experience with network troubleshooting tools.
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently or collaboratively.
- Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA) and remote support tools.
