Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.
This position provides consultative technical expertise for business systems within the Bank. Directs all aspects of requirements gathering for system enhancements and projects, including oversight and guidance of large cross-functional or enterprise-wide initiatives. Supports business units at the highest level of operational complexity and acts as an advisor on banking processes, systems, and analytics. Champions best practices through personal leadership and improvements to policies, procedures, and structures. Mentors and directs less experienced associates in the work group on the completion of daily activities.
Responsibilities
Business Support
- Directs programming, business analysis, or testing activities, including the determination of scope, time and cost estimates, and system impact within user requests. Facilitates system modifications within existing system architecture and assists with architectural changes as necessary. Elicits and refines business technology roadmaps, including setting priority and understanding cross team impacts. Technical Expertise
- Serves as a technical expert and strategic leader to senior management, associates, and business units. Ensures that team activities comply with all appropriate configuration, change controls, and security standards. Participates in business meetings and special projects to provide insight on end-user needs. Keeps abreast of industry trends. Identifies and holds accountable vendors in support of system updates and maintenance. Data Analysis
- Sources, compiles, and reviews data from processes, systems, and stakeholders. Conducts complex analysis to determine business impacts and opportunities to increase efficiencies. Identifying Business Requirements
- Develops methods to test, gather, and track business requirements. Ensures systems and processes comply with all applicable regulations. Operational Support
- Works across all levels of the Bank, including senior and executive management. Coordinates analyst duties across multiple teams on cross-functional and enterprise-wide initiatives. Recommends and implements system enhancements, ensuring that developed solutions appropriately address business needs. Consultation
- Offers consultative guidance to business leaders, associates, and senior management, acting as a resource on business systems and needs. Utilizes expertise to provide mentoring, feedback, and direction on complex matters. Leads process improvements and technical modifications to ensure success.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Information Technology OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Information Technology
Skill(s): Broad knowledge of a bank's internal systems, networks, operating systems, interfaces and processes
Previous leadership for technical implementation Knowledge of Standard Development Life Cycles (like Waterfall or Agile) Knowledge of system and data design Project management or Program management Communication skills - interpersonal Business acumen / knowledge (Consumer Banking / Wealth Management) Atlassian JIRA, Azure DevOps - proficiency in one of the ALM tools. Proficiency in both will be a plus. MS Project experience for waterfall projects is preferred.
Domain knowledge
- Banking and Financial industry knowledge is a must-have. Digital Banking knowledge will be a plus. Project reporting, status management, and stakeholder communication skills are required.
SQL and reporting skills Familiarity with various project SDLC and associated patterns such as Scrum, Scaled Agile, Scrum of Scrums, Waterfall are recommended. MS Visio, Lucid Chart, or other diagram tools experience is preferred.
Ability to manage a team of resources - onshore or offshore and manage task assignments.
Expectations
Readiness to work across required time zones based on project needs. Interact with onshore/offshore groups as needed via online meetings or calls.
If hired in California, the base pay for this position is generally between $166,000 and $180,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
