About the job
The Customer Intelligence R&D team is looking for a Senior Software Developer to advance our data engineering framework, support numerous value-stream teams, and more.
Data Engineering is looking to the future, and how we can best support our customers both internal and external by leveraging the latest in Generative AI within our solutions. Data pipelines, data management, as well as job orchestration and additional manipulation of customer event data will fall within your scope of influence.
You will contribute to various solutions driven by the technical acumen you bring. Your experience will contribute to the overall success of the team via interactions with other teams we support as well as mentoring junior team members within the team. Expertise within one or more areas of the product software is expected to be gained expeditiously.
The Data Engineering team hosting this position is a multi-talented feature team contributing to diverse technologies powering our Customer Intelligence CI360 solutions.
As a Senor Software Developer, you will:
- Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to CI360 best practices and processes
- Actively involve other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, and product managers) to ensure implementations satisfy the functional requirements
- Ensure solutions meet the highest data security guidelines and are consistent with R&D standards
- Develop multi-tenancy solutions that support multiple services and scale seamlessly
- Expand knowledge of CI360 solutions, and how Data Engineering services support those solutions
- Review cloud technologies and participate in research efforts to best determine applicability as it pertains to Data Engineering services
- Mentor junior team members
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
Required Qualifications
- 8 or more years of experience developing enterprise-level solutions
- 5 or more years building microservices and/or data processing systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with the Java programming language
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, or similar cloud offerings
- Strong testing automation experience, preferably in *unit frameworks
- An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications
- Data manipulation and Java service development to process incoming data at high speed and provide a robust framework to surface that data in an ad-hoc manner for execution.
- Due to the number of cloud-specific technologies involved, experience with AWS DynamoDB, Lambda, and other AWS service knowledge is key to the success of this role.
- Expertise in cloud architecture of data processing systems with a particular focus on multi-tenancy (noisy neighbor) processing as well as the scalability of the processing systems.
- Experience in building streaming data processing systems, utilizing Kafka, Flink, or similar data streaming processing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Python programming language
- Experience building DevOps-enabled software solutions
- Experience with container management systems, such as Kubernetes
- Experience building streaming data processing systems
- Usage of Git, GitHub, GitLab, and/or Jenkins.
- Thorough knowledge of additional AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, ECR/ECS, SQS, SNS, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Experience with relational databases and SQL language.
