Job Title: Project Manager – IT Resiliency / Business Continuity
Department: Circle K - Global Tech Infrastructure Security (GTIS)
Reports to: GTIS Senior Manager Infrastructure Projects
Location: Remote or Phoenix, Arizona area
The Project Manager role will provide leadership and facilitation of the IT Resiliency / Business Continuity program. The position is responsible for planning, coordination, communicating and overseeing the program delivery alongside the IT Resiliency / Business Continuity Manager on the Compliance team.
Plan, build, run and manage enterprise-wide Continuity and Resilience for Circle K, including strategies, plan development, plan exercising, and managing related IT budgets (capital and operational), annual program agendas and recovery improvement metrics.
Manage the execution and completion of all resiliency / business continuity test activities. The person who fills this position will be expected to collaborate with business continuity management (BCM), business unit management, external business partners and key IT staff members to plan, direct, control and maintain effective disaster recovery (DR) plan testing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of current Business Continuity & IT Resiliency planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used to perform risk analysis and business impact.
- Familiarity of data and voice telecommunications to guide the preparation of related recovery procedures. [Potentially citing specific technologies used by the company here — e.g., VMware SRM, EMC SRDF or Oracle Data Guard, Nutanix, Azure, OCI, AWS.
- Proven competency in executing large projects, on time and within budget, with business and IT.
- Invoice and budget management including forecasting and accruals.
- Define program scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate program expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with program stakeholders and technical teams on an ongoing basis.
- Set and continually manage program expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Plan and schedule program timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Track program milestones and deliverables.
- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the program team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Define program success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout program life cycle.
- Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful program elements.
- Develop best practices and tools for program execution and management.
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT:
- Proven ability to work under stressful conditions, such as business-related crises.
- Direct and manage program development from beginning to end.
- Develop full-scale program plans and associated communications documents.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the program team.
- Identify and manage program dependencies and critical path.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Proactively manage changes in program scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise program team members; influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the program.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Business Continuity / Resiliency experience 3yrs+
- Bachelor’s Degree in an information technology and/or management field, and/or equivalent management and work experience
- 4-6 years of IT management experience with deep knowledge of IT Project / Program Management.
- Knowledge of service, quality assurance, hardware, and application delivery.
- Proven experience with managing vendors.
- Excellent project management skills and substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work irregular hours ranging from Europe to North America.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate computer keyboard for data entry.
- Ability to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
- Ability to manage multiple team members.
