This is a Part-Time Volunteer, Remote position.
Volunteers are welcome to participate and become actively involved in the actual operational activities of the organization. Volunteers will be able to attend our functions and other events and activities as identified.
Role: Grant Writer (Volunteer)
Opportunity Overview:
Seeking an individual to contribute on a part-time volunteer basis and be responsible for drafting grant proposals on Precision RVA Inc.'s behalf to help secure funding from foundations, corporations, private donors, and fiscal nonprofit sponsors. We are looking for a strong writer to create a compelling narrative around Precision RVA's mission and business plan.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.
- Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
- Submit proposals to grant coordinator for approval.
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
- Work with the Executive Director to create a database of potential grants and timelines for the writing process
- Create and maintain a Grant Calendar that shows when a grant application or report is due and the contact info
- Review the funder website printed application guidelines and determine the mission alignments of a potential funder.
Requirements:
- Any Bachelor's degree with English Proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented
- Clear and concise writing skills
- A heart for volunteering and a commitment to our cause.
- Be goal-oriented and motivated by achieving individual and group fundraising goals.
- Be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of computer and subject matter competency
- Independent worker that can complete tasks promptly
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of grant writing experience
- Previous nonprofit/startup experience
- Previous experience in content creation or copywriting
Time commitment: Minimum 5 hours per week for a 1-year period.
