Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing various commercial painting projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all aspects are handled efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the candidate should have strong estimating abilities to contribute to the project planning process.
This is a remote position based in the greater Boston/Southern New Hampshire/Metro Washington DC area, requiring on-site work with our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing painting projects.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and reports.
- Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial painting projects.
- Monitor project progress and provide updates to the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in managing project budgets and controlling costs.
- Coordinate site meetings and ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Handle any issues that arise during the project, providing solutions and escalating when necessary.
- Perform site visits to monitor quality and progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Availability to travel to client sites in the greater Boston/Southern New Hampshire/Metro Washington DC area, 40% of the time.
- 2-4 years of experience as a Commercial Paint Estimator or Assistant Project Manager.
- Strong estimating skills with the ability to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Ability to understand and present products and services.
- Estimating software proficiency.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in project management & estimating software and Apple/Mac experience.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to pass background checks including military/government/CORI.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
