You are:
A hands-on Data Engineer with know-how in building Tableau dashboards, analyzing data, integrating disparate data from various channels, optimizing, and working within CDPs (such as Snowflake and Databricks). SQL is table stakes.

You use data to understand market trends, increase profitability, and improve marketing efficiencies. Plus, easily comprehend the current state of the organization and marketplace. You are meticulous about producing quality work and have excellent communication skills.
Summary:
You work closely with the marketing operations teams and regularly provide strategic input based on past/current/future (modeling) trends seen in the data. In addition, you serve as liaison between business and technical teams and often translate technical BI tool requirements to the technical team.
Supporting Ascend Marketing’s strategy, the Data Engineer must be proficient in SQL, modeling and machine learning, plus have the visualization know-how to create dashboards using Tableau and other Business Intelligence visualization tools. This position supports various stages of the end-to-end report development lifecycle, with specific responsibilities related to the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation in the reporting tools.
What you will do:
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex data engineering. This role requires a deep understanding of AI programming, MLOps, SQL, software architecture, and Analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with the ability to work on both individual and team projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering and AI Programming:
- Design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to support AI applications.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models, ensuring integration with backend systems.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for large-scale AI applications.
Backend Services Development:
- Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Implement scalable and secure backend solutions to support front-end applications.
- Ensure high performance and responsiveness of backend services.
Software Architecture and Development:
- Design software architecture for new applications and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Analytics:
- Implement security best practices in the design and deployment of analytical applications on Tableau.
- Developing Data Insights using Tableau and Alteryx.
- Monitor and improve data quality and implement measures to protect sensitive information.
DevOps and Infrastructure:
- Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring availability and scalability.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with data scientists, front-end developers, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical team members.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Resident or permanent Visa.
- Hybrid work availability out of the Ascend Marketing office in Grapevine, TX.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or related areas.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Tableau and Teradata
- Strong understanding of machine learning frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
